Wilma R. Roady, 77, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at her home.
Born March 21, 1937 in Ralston, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Quay T. and Margie M. (Teichmer) Bonfy. She was raised on the family farm which was once part of the 101 Ranch near Ponca City. She received her education in Ponca City, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1955.
Wilma was united in marriage to Marvin E. Roady on May 26, 1956 at the First Lutheran Church in Ponca City. The couple made their first home in Ponca City and Wilma began working at First National Bank. In 1957 the couple moved to Winfield, Kansas where she began working for First National Bank in Winfield. She remained at the bank for over 43 years until retiring as Vice President of Personal Loans in 2000. Wilma was very involved in the Walnut Valley Farmers Market and served as Treasurer.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and attended the Grandview United Methodist Church in Winfield. She was also a member of the Winfield Gardenaires Club. She was an avid gardener and loved working and planting flowers in her yard. She also enjoyed Corvettes, being with her family and spending time with her nephews and nieces, listening to Country and Western Music, and Steven Tyler. She especially loved spending time with and taking care of her farm dog, Lady and her Cairn Terrier, Sassy.

Her brothers: Dick Bonfy and wife Dolly of Winfield; Buddy Bonfy and wife Phyllis of Albert Lee, MN; and
Her numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, and a sister-in-law, Paula C. Bonfy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will be held at 1:00 P.M., at Riverside Cemetery in Ralston, Oklahoma. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, January 27, 2015.
Memorials have been established in Wilma's name for the Winfield Gardenaires Club and for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
