William Samuel "Bill" Haunschild, 83, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at his home.

Born February 19, 1938 in Enid, Oklahoma, he was the son of Charles V. and Vivian (LaFawn) Haunschild. He was raised and received his education in Jet, Oklahoma, graduating from Jet High School in 1956.

Bill was united in marriage to Connie Manning on August 24, 1957 in Jet. The couple made their first home in Alva where Bill attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. The couple then moved to Stillwater and attended Oklahoma A&M before moving to Ponca City. While in Ponca City, Bill worked in the processing lab for Continental. In 1972, the family moved to their farm north of Winfield. In addition to farming, Bill worked for Law Plumbing and Heating before starting Haunschild Plumbing and Heating.

He was a member of Central Baptist Church where he was instrumental in the building renovation and expansion. In addition to being on the Building Committee, he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, rebuilding transistor radios, and working on things around the farm.

His family includes his wife Connie Haunschild of Winfield; his children, Gail Haunschild-Freedle and husband, Wes of Coffeyville; Bryan Haunschild and wife, Betty of Winfield; Jason Haunschild of Winfield; his sister Beth Walters of Brownsville, TX; his brother Doug Haunschild of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandchildren, Megan Beeson, Bailey Haunschild, Brooklyn Haunschild, Heather Freedle-Malone, Thomas Freedle; and his great grandchildren, Eliana Beeson, Lakin Freedle, Bailey Malone, Kennadi Freedle, and Alan Freedle.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother Charles Dennis Haunschild, and a sister Nedra Haunschild.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Central Baptist Church in Winfield under the direction of Miles Funeral Service. The family request that those in attendance please wear face covering.

A memorial has been established in Bill's name to defray expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
