WILLIAM RAY "BILL" KING, 85, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, December 19, 2014 at his home.

Born April 17, 1929 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, he was the son of Ray and Nellie (Lamb) King. He was raised and received his education in Labette, Kansas. Bill joined the United States Army on July 26, 1951. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on July 10, 1953.

He was united in marriage to Sharon Wheeler on February 16, 1983 in Colorado. Bill worked as a service manager for Zane Gray Motors for eighteen years.

He was a member of the American Motorcross Association as well as the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid motorcross racer and held 3rd place in the state for several years.

His sons: William "Bobby" King of Denver, CO; Donald King of Ponca City, OK;
His step-sons: Earl Price of Illinois; Joe Weiss and wife, Daisy Hutchins of Winfield; Ernest Weiss of Winfield;
His step-daughters: Beverly Neubecker of Florida; Tina Ensley and husband, Darren of Wichita; Deonna Arzola of Winfield;
His brothers: Jackie King and wife, Tanja of Oklahoma City, OK; Wayne King and wife, Peggy of Ponca City, OK;
His sister: Bonnie Barton of Ponca City, OK; and
His 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Richard King.

Memorial services and Military Committal Honors will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established in Bill's name for the American Motorcross Association and for the Salvation Army. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
