William H. "Bill" Cousins, 88, of Haysville, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, June 11, 2023, at Diversicare of Haysville.

Born August 8, 1934, in Hooser, Kansas, he was the son of John and Hazel Cousins.  He was raised and received his education in South Central and Southeastern Kansas, attending high school in Wichita.  After high school, Bill worked for a short time at the Allison Hotel.

He was united in marriage to Charlotte R. Asbury on September 9, 1953.  The couple made their home in Wichita where Bill worked as a sign maker for Claud Neon for 27 years, before working for George Lay Sign for an additional 21 years before retiring in 2000.  After retirement, Bill continued working part-time as a glass blower for neon signs.  He also attended auctioneer school and held several auctions in Cowley County.

He was a member of the Electrical Union, the Order of the Eastern Star #494, and the Haysville Masonic Lodge #112.  Bill enjoyed welding, gardening, working with stained glass, and traveling.

Bill is survived by his wife Charlotte Cousins of Haysville; his daughter Vicki Carrell and husband, David of Haysville; his son Randal Cousins and wife, Kathleen of Haysville; his sister Mary Philbrick; his grandchildren, Sara, Alanna, and Cindy; and his great grandchildren, Shawn, Gavin, and Rebecca.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, John, and Roy Cousins, and four sisters, Aline Asbury, Lou Wilson, Juanita McConnell, and Nettie McQuiken.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery.  A visitation with the family is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until Noon.

A memorial has been established in Bill's name for Haysville Masonic Lodge.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
