Obituary

William D. "Bill" Davis, 85, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, December 13, 2015 at the Olathe Medical Center.

Bill was born March 22, 1930 in Winfield, Kansas. He was the son of Hillary and Lucille B. (Hindman) Davis. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1948.

He was united in marriage to Jo Rita Ritchie at the First Christian Church in Winfield on August 9, 1950. The couple made their home in Winfield. Bill was a Sergeant First Class in the Kansas Army National Guard and served for 18 years. He worked at Strother Field at Peabody Gordon Piatt. He also worked for Fralic Heating and Air. The last ten years of his career, Bill worked at Merle Snider Motors in Winfield. He and Jo Rita moved to Olathe in November to be with family.

He was a long time member of the First Christian Church in Winfield and served in many capacities in the church over the years, including Deacon and Elder.

His family includes:

His daughters: Kathy Hanshew and husband, Dave of Pratt; Kris Huntoon and husband, Pat of Olathe;
His grandchildren: Corey Davis and wife, Steffi; Tracy Bailey and husband, Kyle; Trent Hanshew and wife, Sarah; Mandy Browning and husband, Jason; and Mallory Ankrom and husband, Erik; and
His great grandchildren: Garrett and Britley Bailey, Lillian Hanshew, Daley, Grayson and Bennett Browning.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Montie Kay Davis and his granddaughter, Misha Davis.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Bill's name for the First Christian Church in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
