William D. "Bill" Crow, 91, of Dexter, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, September 2, 2014 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield, Kansas.
Born December 15, 1922 in Winfield, Kansas he was the son of Harold W. and Bertha Jane (Hogue) Crow. He was raised and received his education in Dexter, Kansas, graduating from Dexter High School in 1939. After school he proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps in World War II. While in the Army Air Corps he attended Iowa State University where he received specialized training.
Bill was united in marriage to M. "Marie" Adams on June 14, 1949, at the Presbyterian Church in Elko, Nevada. Bill and Marie farmed and raised livestock in the Maple City and Dexter areas. In the 1970's he went to work for the Devore Hog Farms, and remained there until retirement. The couple then moved into Dexter.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Dexter. His main hobby was cutting firewood.

His son: Michael Crow and wife, Susan of Dexter;
His daughters: Kathryn Spinks and husband, Jack of Center Point, TX; Christine Shultz and husband, Jack of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA;
His sister: Sandra Rowe of Wichita; and
His 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Mervin Crow.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Dexter. Interment will follow at the Dexter Cemetery. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established in Bill's name for the First Christian Church of Dexter and the Kansas Veterans Home. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
