Obituary

Wilber L. Comstock, 75, of Collins, Missouri, previously of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Friday morning, March 25, 2016 at his home in Collins.

Born April 27, 1940 in Sterling, Kansas, he was the son of Claude C. and Estella M. (Horton) Comstock. He was raised and received his education in Sterling and Hutchinson, Kansas. Wilber graduated from Compton Senor High School. He then attended college, receiving his Associates Degree.

He was united in marriage to Bernald Ann Ralston on July 24, 1964 in Las, Vegas, Nevada. The couple made their first home together in Anaheim, California. They also lived in Fontana and Gardiana, California, Acworth, Georgia and Winfield and Wichita, Kansas. Wilber worked for the US Forest Service Fire Patrol and for the aircraft industry when he was young. As an adult, he worked in Masonry, was a truck driver and for the aircraft industry. He owned and operated his own Masonry company and retired in 2010.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and 4-H. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Midian Shriners in Wichita, Kansas. He enjoyed camping and working outdoors.

His sons: Ralston Comstock and wife, Alice of Arkansas City; Matthew Comstock of Winfield, KS;
His daughters: Claudean Wingert and husband, Lee of Burden; Sarah Irvin and husband, Kevin of Wichita;
His twin brother: Walter Dean Comstock and wife, Peggy of Urbana, MO;
His sisters: Marilyn K. Swaffar and husband, Jerry of Independence, MO; Mary E. Silvey and husband, Ronald of Haysville;
His grandchildren: Wesley, Cameron and Randie Wingert, Cody and Morgan Irvin, Brianna, Ashton, Gavin, Taryn, and Tavin Comstock; and
His great grandchild: Reece Matthew Searight.

In addition to his parents, Wilber was preceded in death by his son, Denver Comstock.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment and Masonic honors will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at Noon until service time.

A memorial has been established in Wilber's name for the Shriner's Hospital. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
