WARREN A. SCOTT, 96, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013, at Winfield Rest Haven.
Born January 12, 1917, in the Tisdale area, he was the son of Ivan J. and Luetta (Ford) Scott. He attended Frog Hollow Grade School and graduated from Winfield High School in 1935. Warren was united in marriage to Ruth Roberts on June 7, 1940, in Winfield. They made their home in rural Winfield where Warren farmed. He and Ruth had celebrated 69 years of marriage when she preceded him in death on July 8, 2009.
Warren was a member of Tisdale United Methodist Church and served in many capacities through the years. He especially enjoyed congregational singing. Warren accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior when he was a teenager attending Epworth League. He was an avid reader and loved to tell stories about the old days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; his sister, Harriet Richardson; his sister-in-law, Jean Green; and his grandson, Jared Sudsbury.

His children: James W. Scott, Winfield; JoAn Holdorf and husband Lowell, Fayetteville, Arkansas; Steven R. Scott and wife Mero, Wenatchee, Washington; and Susan Scott, Exeter, New Hampshire.
His grandchildren: Jessica Sudsbury, Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Anna Holdorf, Columbia, Missouri; Km Bond, Seattle, Washington; Rebecca Whittaker of Parker,Co;
His great grandchildren, Nathan Sudsbury and Jessica and Jack Whittaker.
Also surviving are his brother-in-law Don Roberts and wife Erma of Winfield and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Tisdale United Methodist Church. The burial service will be private. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Friday, March 1, 2013, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and the family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Warren's name with the Tisdale United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
