Obituary

Warren Ray Calvin, Jr., 69, of Cambridge, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Born September 4, 1956, in El Dorado, he was the son of Warren Ray, Sr. and Patricia (Province) Calvin. Jr. was raised and educated in the Latham area, graduating from Bluestem High School in Leon in 1974. Following high school, he started his first job working for Young & Cooper.

On September 12, 1984, he married Mona Jean Boone in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home near Latham. Jr. was a hardworking rancher, most recently working for Whitham Ranch. He enjoyed team roping and playing Blackjack, and was a member of numerous roping associations. One of the highlights of his career was qualifying and roping at the 2012 WRCA Ranch Rodeo in Amarillo, Texas.

His family includes his wife Mona Calvin of Cambridge; his son Justin Calvin and wife, Shalise of Cambridge; his sister Linda Easum of Augusta; his brothers, Gene Calvin of Latham; Randall "Tuffy" Calvin of Latham; and his beloved dog Buddy.

Jr. was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 13, 2026, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.

A memorial has been established in Jr.'s name for the Butler County Fire District #6. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
