Obituary

Wanda Cornwell, 89, passed peacefully on December 12, 2019 at the Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita.

Born Wanda Ruth Hopper on June 1, 1930 in Grenola, Kansas, she was the oldest daughter of Oscar and Lavina Hoppper, who preceded her death. Wanda married her surviving husband of 70 years, Charles O. Cornwell on January 23, 1949 in Winfield, Kansas. Wanda was also preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn R. Bedigrew and sister Carol Smith. She is survived by her sons (Charles) David Cornwell and wife, Carol (Horn) of Wichita; Bradley Cornwell of Montgomery, AL; son-in-law Marvin Bedigrew of Goddard; sister-in-law Joyce Nelson of Hutchinson; her beloved eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sisters Barbara Hall of Kansas; Joan Connell of TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Highland Cemetery. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in Wanda's name for the Kansas Humane Society and the Greenlawn Cemetery Fund in Grenola. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
