Subsequently, they opened Young's Café and ran that business for 10 years.

Vivian was a long time member of the Grandview United Methodist Church, where she participated in many activities. She was an active parent in her children's Floral 4-H activities. During those same years, Vivian and Raymond enjoyed square dancing. Vivian also enjoyed bowling and did so into her mid-eighties. Vivian was a current member of the Winfield Kiwanis Club.
