Virginia E. Felts, 93, of Winfield, Kansas passed away on Thursday morning, April 7, 2022, at Winfield Senior Living.
Born January 10, 1929, in Frederick, Oklahoma, She was the daughter of Joseph and Gladys (Estes) Bryan. She was raised and received her education throughout Oklahoma and Texas, graduating from high school in Plano, Texas. She then attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, graduating with an associate's degree.
Virginia met and married her husband of almost 70 years, William "Bill" Felts, while at college. The family moved to Winfield in 1958, allowing Bill to start Felts Oil Company where Virginia kept the books for the business. After Bill's retirement in 1990, the family moved to their lake house at Grand Lake in Oklahoma. The couple enjoyed going to car shows and traveling in their retirement. They took trips all over the world, including to New York, Europe, Lake Powell, and a trip to the Final Four in 1988. Bill preceded Virginia in death on March 24, 2020.
Virginia's family includes her sons, Michael B. Felts and wife, Lynn of Winfield; Neil C. Felts and wife, Leslie of Winfield; her three grandchildren, Thomas Felts of Emporia; Drew Felts of Winfield; and Kaitlyn Mans of Winfield; her seven great grandchildren, Wyatt and Carter of Emporia; Jayden, Luna, Ronan, Maisie, and Orion all of Winfield.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by a grandson Bryan C. Felts and five siblings, Wanda Jo, Sammy, Tommy, Jo Bryan, and Chida.
Memorial services for Bill and Virginia will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service. Private family burial will be held at Highland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in Virginia's name for First United Methodist Church and for Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
