VIOLET JO SEACAT, 77, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday evening, April 5, 2008 at the Presbyterian Manor in Arkansas City.
Born on May 13, 1930 in Salina, Kansas she was the daughter of Ira Joe and Zola Katherine (Tillotson) Six. She was raised and received her education in
Blackwell, Oklahoma.
She was united in marriage to Jack L. Seacat on September 23, 1948 in Blackwell, Oklahoma where the couple made their first home. In 1962 they moved to a ranch near Dexter, Kansas. The couple resided in the Winfield and Dexter areas for 36 years. Mr. Seacat preceded her in death on November 18, 1998.
Violet was a member of the Maple City Community Church. Her hobbies included her family, cooking, sewing and gardening.

Her grandchildren: Justin, Melissa and Jessie Seacat, Amy Day, and Abby Young; and
Her great-grandchildren: Hope, Bryce, Jarrett, Tyson, Randalynn, Nicole, Joey, Casey, Madelyn and Wyatt.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her twin sons, Terry L. Seacat in 1954; Jerry P Seacat in 1993; her brother, Ira Lee Six; and her granddaughter, Ann Lewis in 2004.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Rose Valley Cemetery, southeast of Winfield.
A memorial has been established in Violet's name for the Jerry Seacat Memorial Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
