Vicki Ann Stewart, 77, previously of Belknap, Kansas, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 25, 2026, at her home in Winfield.
Born July 4, 1948, in Sedan, Kansas, she was the daughter of Earl and Evelyn (Moore) Jones. She was raised and received her education in Moline and graduated from high school in 1967.
Vicki married Richard Joseph Hopper in the fall of 1967. The couple had two children and later divorced. She was united in marriage to William Charles “Billy” Stewart on May 5, 1994, in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their first home in Moline before building and moving to their home on the farm in Belknap. Vickie worked for many years as a Para Professional at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center until its closing in 1996. She then worked as a medical assistant at the Moline Clinic until retiring in 2008. After retirement, Billy and Vicki loved working on the farm, raising pigs and cattle for many years. Vickie also enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes. Billy preceded her in death on May 16, 2020.
She was a member of the Belknap Church. In addition to gardening, she enjoyed shopping and going to antique stores.
Her family includes her children, Rick Hopper and wife, Karen of Rock; Missy Leverenz and husband, Daryl of Arkansas City; her grandchildren, Valerie Eastman and husband, Tony of Winfield; Crystal Hopper of Wichita; Brian Hopper and wife, Emily of Rock; Forrest Huckabey of Neodesha; Autumn Hopper of Atlanta; Amanda Creamer of Arkansas City; her niece Sharon Kuepker and husband, Jeff of Colwich; her nephews, Mark Stewart and wife, Rebecca of Belknap; Brian Stewart and wife, Brook of Belknap; and numerous great grandchildren and extended family members.
In addition to her parents and husband, Vicki was preceded in death by a brother Robert E. Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 30, 2026, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Belknap Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Vicki’s name for the Belknap Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
