Verna Virginia "Jenny" McPherson, 91, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 13, 2020 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.

Born April 19, 1929 in Cedar Creek, MO, she was the daughter of John Thomas and Addie Mossie (Payne) Marler. Jenny was raised and received her education in Cedar Creek. She was united in marriage to Everett Leon McPherson on April 3, 1948 in Harrison, Arkansas. The couple made their first home in Branson, Missouri and moved to Winfield, Kansas in 1949. Jenny worked for a short time in a garment factory and later dedicated her life to being a homemaker. Everett preceded her in death on April 25, 2019.

She was a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God in Winfield. She loved her family and especially loved being a grandmother.

Her family includes her son, Ken McPherson of Winfield; her daughter-in-law, Sandra McPherson of Winfield; her four grandchildren, Greg McPherson, Justin McPherson and wife, Laura, Jeff McPherson, Kimberly Randall and husband, Todd; and her four great grandchildren, Kylie and Emily Randall, and Barrett and Abram McPherson.

In addition to her husband, Everett, Jenny was preceded in death by a son, David "Rusty" McPherson.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 19, 2020 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family graveside will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Jenny's name for Praise Cathedral Church of God in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
