Verlinda Bee Walker, 82, formerly of Udall, Kansas, passed away, Tuesday morning, October 18, 2022 at Advena Living in Rose Hill.

Born January 14, 1940 in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of John Vernon and Wilma (Titus) Henwood. She was raised and received her education in Garden City, Kansas, before moving with her family to Wichita, Kansas, while she was in high school. Verlinda graduated from Wichita North High School in 1958.

She was united in marriage to Larry E. Walker on December 14, 1958 in Wichita, where the couple made their first home. While in Wichita, Verlinda worked for Dillons. In 1965 the couple built a home and moved to a farm near Udall, Kansas. Verlinda spent her life as a loving wife, mother, and hardworking farmer. Verlinda and Larry farmed their land for many years together. Larry preceded her in death on December 12, 2019.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Udall and the Dale Club. She enjoyed sewing, working on crafts, and baking cakes. She was known for her cake decorating, making several birthday and wedding cakes over the years.

Her family includes her children, Kenneth Walker and wife, Jennifer of Olathe; Diane Jones and husband, TJ of Wichita; her brothers, Darryl Henwood and wife, Vickie of Derby; Joseph Henwood and wife, Pat of Mesa, AZ; her grandchildren, Chelsea Danler of Wichita; Jarret Johnson of Kermit, TX; Skylar Johnson of Wichita; Darrell Walker of Olathe; and her great grandchildren, Breyton Smith, Talyn Smith, and Kaidyn Lyon.

Verlinda was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Ninnescah Cemetery south of Udall. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Verlinda's name for the Alzheimer's Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
