Tressa C. Sherman, 67, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at Alderbrook Village.

Born October 12, 1956, in Winfield, she was the daughter of Lloyd E. and Celia E. (Yianakopulos) Stout.  She was raised and educated in Atlanta and Burden, Kansas.  Following high school, she attended Bryant Institute and received a certificate as a Dental Assistant.  As a young woman, she worked as a Dental Assistant for a short time.

Tressa was united in marriage to David L. Sherman on April 10, 1993 at Tisdale Methodist Church.  The couple moved to Hutchinson and returned home to Winfield in 2002.  Tressa worked as a caregiver in disabled care homes in Winfield.  David preceded her in death on December 20, 2007.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Church in Arkansas City.  She enjoyed doing Christmas crafts and gardening.  She especially enjoyed time with family and friends and going to church.

Her family includes her brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Barbara Stout of Eureka; and her nieces, nephews, and friends.

Tressa was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Miles Funeral Service.  Private burial will take place at Wilmot Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Alderbrook Village.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
