TOMMY JOE "TOM" STOY, 61, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday afternoon, July 16, 2012 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Born December 8, 1951 in Sedan, Kansas, he was the son of Fred and Orpha (Sumner) Stoy. He was raised and received his education in Wellington, Kansas, and later in Omaha, Nebraska where he graduated high school.
Tom was a meat cutter for Safeway and later worked as the CEO of Futures For Tomorrow for ten years. He was united in marriage to Carol Boyd on July 11, 1978 in Independence, Kansas. The couple made their home in Independence for thirty years before moving to Winfield in 2002.
Tom recently worked as a chef at the Winfield Country Club. He was a member of the Mulvane and Winfield American Legion and Veteran's of Foreign Wars Posts. He enjoyed shooting pool in his younger years and loved being around people and talking but cooking was his passion.

His son: Joe Blenden of Pawhuska, Oklahoma;
His brothers: Phillip Stoy and wife Betty of Deweyville, Texas; Bill Stoy and wife Beverly of Mineola, Texas; Paul Stoy and wife, Cathy of Checotah, Oklahoma; and Kenny Stoy of Castro Valley, California.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Orpha and his brothers, Jack and Fred, Jr.
Cremation has been effected. The family will hold a memorial service on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Episcopal Church at 715 Millington Street in Winfield. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
A Memorial has been established in Tom's name to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
