Obituary

Tommy Hardin, Oxford, Kansas, passed away April 11, 2021 at the Kansas Veterans Home.

Born May 3, 1933 in Fort Griffin, Texas to Manuel and Jewel (Ballard) Hardin. He was one of eleven siblings. Tommy spent much of his youth at the Buckner Children's Home in Dallas, Texas until moving to Winfield to live with his brother Tass and his family.

Tommy served as an Army Medic in the Korean War and was honorably discharged and returned to the Winfield area. He later married Anna Mae Cheuvront in Oxford, Kansas. To this union, three children were born.

Tommy worked in the oil fields as a young man and later began working at the Udall Co-op from where he retired in 1998.

Tommy enjoyed driving to Colorado, fishing, spending time with his family, and watching the Dallas Cowboys and KU Basketball.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his three children, Maurica (John) Stoabs of Winfield; Melody (Bruce) White of Palisade, CO; Jim (Karen) Hardin of Winfield; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother Tass Hardin of Las Vegas, NV; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.

A memorial has been established in Tommy's name for the Kansas Veterans Home. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
