Toby Alan Nation, 45, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
Born December 21, 1976, in Winfield, he was the son of Alan and Judy (Hensley) Nation. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1995. He then attended Independence Community College and later Southwestern College, graduating in 1999 and attended Fort Hays State University for a year. Toby previously worked for American Concrete and Daniels Ready Mix and was a truck driver for Two Rivers Coop. In June 2020, he began his own trucking company, Toby Nation Trucking, LLC.
He was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion and volunteered with the VFW for many of their community activities. Toby was an avid Nebraska Huskers fan, enjoyed car racing, including Figure 8 and Nascar. He loved his Dr. Pepper and music. He could sing and quote just about any song. He especially loved his family and spending time with his girls.
His family includes his daughters Olivia and Hope Nation of Winfield; his parents Alan and Judy Nation of Winfield; his brother Cory Nation and wife, Abby of Valley Center; his paternal grandmother Lenora Nation; his nephews and niece, Cooper, Carter, and Lucy Nation; his uncles, John Crow and wife, Paula of Winfield; Jerry Crow and wife, Cheryl of Winfield; Paul Nation and wife, Debbie of Ottawa; Gary Nation and wife, Susie of Holdrege, NE; and numerous cousins.
Toby was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Charles Nation and his maternal grandparents, Dean and Joan Crow.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Wilmot Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Toby's name for Olivia and Hope's Education. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
