Timothy Wayne Brooks, 53, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at his Res-Care home.

Born September 8, 1970, in Wamego, Kansas, he was the son of Edward and Karen J. (Knuckey) Brooks.  He lost both parents at a young age and Timmy grew up in the care of Mosaic and his aunt Ruth and cousin Kimberly for the last 22 years.  He moved to a Res-Care Group Home in 2021.

Survivors include his aunt Ruth Marquis of Winfield; cousins, Kimberly Gray, Allen Kearns, and Rick Weidmann; second cousins, Garth, Trey, Travis, Heidi, Becky, Cheyanna and Cody; and many other family members that never got the pleasure to meet Timmy.

In addition to his parents, Timothy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack and Virginia Knuckey, an infant brother Kevin Lynn Brooks, a second cousin Brady Allen, an aunt and uncle Barbara and Eric Weidmann, an uncle Richard Kearns, and a cousin Linda Weidmann.

Funeral services will be held at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 2:00 P.M.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.  A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 to 6 P.M.

Memorials have been established in Timmy's name for Gentiva Hospice and for Res-Care.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
