Obituary

Thomas Lee Hutchison, 37, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Born June 20, 1988, in Topeka, Kansas, to Scott Hutchison and Sandra Bane. He was raised and received his education in Topeka, graduating from Shawnee Heights High School. Following school, he worked as manager of Sonic for several years, before moving to Council Grove, Kansas.

While in Council Grove, Thomas worked at La Hacenda before beginning his career with the man that would become his mentor, Steve Hanson in construction and remodeling. His work became his life mission. He took pride in many of the projects he was involved with. He loved listening to music, tinkering, and spending time with his children. He had an adventurous side and enjoyed experimenting with new things. His hands were never idle.

In October of 2017, Thomas met the love of his life Casey Dain while in Topeka. The couple relocated to Winfield in 2024 where Thomas continued his work in construction.

His family includes his life partner Casey Hutchison; his mother Sandra Bane; his father Scott Hutchison; his children, Aerona Hutchison, Serenity Hutchison, Isabelle Hutchison, Ryan Abel, Cain Abel, Chylar Abel, Donnie Abel; and his siblings, Alan Stansell and wife, Bethany; Michelle Robinson and husband, Shawn; Kirsten Bane; Kelsey Homer and husband, Oakley; and Aaron Hutchison.

Thomas was preceded in death by a sister Alayna Hutchison, his step-mother Crystal Hutchison, and his step-father Steven Bane.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Miles Funeral Service.
