Theresa Mars, 42, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 2, 2024, at William Newton Hospital.

Born May 21, 1982, in Kodiak, Alaska, she was the daughter of Jack and Delores (Sheets) Landrum.  She was raised and received her early education in Holden, West Virginia.  In 1994, she moved with her family to Arkansas City, Kansas, where she graduated high school in 2000.

Theresa was married to James Mars in Winfield.  To this union, a daughter, Gabriella was born.  The couple later divorced.  Theresa later began a relationship with Michael Flores and to this union two children, Landon and Sophia, were born.

Theresa spent most of her career as a CNA and CMA working at several area medical facilities and nursing homes.  She had lots of friends and enjoyed planting flowers, coloring, and spending time with her children.  She was proud of all her childrens' accomplishments.  In 2021, Theresa became wheelchair bound due to a bacterial infection, eventually requiring both of her legs to be amputated.  Her daughter Gabby has been a loving and dedicated caregiver to her mother throughout this tough time.

Her family includes her children, Gabby Mars of Winfield; Landon Flores of Arkansas City; Sophie Flores of Arkansas City; her parents, Jack and Dee Landrum of Arkansas City; her sister Peyton Landrum of Arkansas City; and her biological father Paul Timonere.

Theresa was preceded in death by her grandparents.
