Terry Keith Mount, 75, formerly of Burden, Kansas, passed away Saturday morning, December 10, 2022, at Anew Healthcare in Oxford.

Born February 9, 1947, in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Wilbur Keith and Vera (Rowe) Mount. He was raised and received his education in Burden, graduating from Burden High School in 1965. Following high school, Terry enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served four years, receiving an honorable discharge in 1970.

He was united in marriage to Vickie Kay Watson on May 1, 1971, in Atlanta, Kansas. The couple made their home in Burden. Terry was hired on a road construction crew with Shore Construction before beginning his career with the City of Winfield as a heavy machine operator. He retired in 1997. Vickie preceded him in death on April 22, 2002.

Terry was a volunteer for the Burden Fire Department. He enjoyed riding horses and taking care of his cattle. He also enjoyed going to sporting events, fishing, and watching old westerns.

His family includes his sons, Mathew Mount of Wichita; Shawn Mount and wife, Allisha of Wichita; his daughter Randi Carpenter and husband, Rusty of Oxford; his grandchildren, Jaden, Stetson, Emme, Ethan, Kelsey, Logan, Nathaniel, Gavin, and Cayden; his sister Linda Mount of Winfield; his nephew Greg Mount of Wichita; and his step-mother Lola Mount of Sedan.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Burden Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Terry's name for the Burden Fire Department. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
