Obituary

Terry Lee Montandon, 69, of Winfield, Kansas passed away in his Arkansas City, KS home on January 6, 2021.

He was born June 18, 1951 to Ivan & Mildred Montandon in Winfield. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1969 and went to work for his father's carpentry company before going to Quincy, Illinois for jewelry school.

In 1974 Terry was hired as the Foreman at Brigg's Cattle Company in Seward, NE where he worked cattle for 18 years. He married Pam Ethel (Montandon) in 1980 in Seward. There, they raised three children. The family moved to Fredericksburg, TX in 1990 and opened a boutique gift shop, Remember Me. They later opened a second gift shop, Fredericksburg Dry Goods, on Main Street Fredericksburg which Terry operated until 2008. For the last ten years, Terry had been working security at a casino in Newkirk, OK.

Terry is survived by three children, Lee Ann Whatley and family (husband Jon and two daughters) of Fredericskburg, TX; Justin Montandon and family (wife Cassi and three children) of Pflugerville, TX; and Casey Montandon and fiancé, Emily Klarer of Moab, UT; Brothers, Paul Montandon of Blythe, GA, and Allen Montandon and Partner, Dr. Gary Cone of Oklahoma City, OK.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan & Mildred (Sheeks) Montandon, nephew, Michael Montandon, and sister-in-law, Janice Montandon. A monument will be placed to honor his life in the Montandon Family plot at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. No funeral services or celebrations of life are planned. Donations can be made in his name to a charity of choice.
