Obituary

TEDDY "TED" LEE FRAZEE, 87, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 5, 2012 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

Born January 20, 1925 in Belle Plaine, Kansas, he was the son of James Lee and Vina Faye (Walter) Frazee. He was raised and educated in Belle Plaine, except for third and fourth grade which he attended in Oxford. He graduated Belle Plaine High School in 1942. He attended college in Wichita for two years and then nursing home administration school.

Ted worked at Goheen Drug in Belle Plaine through High School. He entered the United States Navy in June of 1947. He served in Vorneo, Phillipines and New Guinea as a Quartermaster 2nd class. He was honorably discharged on June 12, 1952. He was united in marriage to Cora Goertz on July 24, 1975 in Belle Plaine. The couple lived in Winfield and Wichita. He worked for Boeing, Fox Vilet, and his dad's car business. He was the Administrator for Belle Plaine Nursing Home and for Lincoln East Nursing Home in Wichita. He returned to work at Boeing Aircraft Company where he retired from on January 1, 1987.

Ted was a member of the Dawson United Methodist Church in Wichita. He was also a member of the American Legion, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, National LST Association and the Boeing Retirees Association. He enjoyed carpentry, plumbing and being a handy man, as well as fishing.

His family includes:
His wife: Cora Frazee of Wichita;
His son: Chad Smalley and wife, Marilee of Rose Hill;
His daughter: Marsha Smalley Stout and husband, John of Winfield;
His grandchildren: Jeremy, Derek and Noah Stout, John Ed and Wendy Jo Cook and Cody Malchose; and
His 2 great grandchildren.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, James, Neal, Bill and Gary and his four sisters, Wanda Miller, Pauline Martling, Leona Whomans and Lucille Smith.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Dawson United Methodist Church at 2741 S. Laura in Wichita. Interment and Naval Committal honors will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Friday evening from 5 to 7 P.M. or at the church on Saturday morning from 10:30 until service time. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 7 Friday evening.

Memorials have been established in Ted's name for Dawson United Methodist Church and for the Belle Plaine Alumni Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
