Susan K. Henning, 72, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Friday morning, February 16, 2018 at Winfield Rest Haven.
Born November 11, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Elvin and Helen (Ambler) Beck. She was raised and received her education in Fall River, Kansas graduating from Fall River High School. She then attended William Newton School of Nursing obtaining her Nursing Diploma.
Sue was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Henning on August 14, 1965 at the Willowdale Parish in Kingman County. The couple moved to Winfield and later, Lamar, Colorado. In 1970, they moved to Kingman and returned to Winfield in the 1980's. Sue returned to school for business classes at Wichita State University. She was the Director of Nursing at William Newton Hospital and Good Samaritan Village. She also worked as a Registered Nurse at Via Christi St. Joe, Home Health and the Kansas Medical Center. Kenneth preceded her in death on December 19, 2014.
Sue was a member of the Willowdale Parish. She and Kenneth were avid RV'rs and enjoyed spending time in Texas and Colorado.

Her sons: Chad "Maynard" Henning and wife, Cheri of Winfield; Shawn "Ozz" Henning and wife, Jessica of Winfield; and
Her granddaughters: Taryn, Tysha "Boo" and Olivia.
In addition to her husband, Sue was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation with the family will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
