Steven Ray Sultz, 56, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, February 21, 2018 at his home.
Born January 1, 1962 in Winfield, he was the son of Oliver Wayne and Letha Joyce (Bradford) Sultz. He was raised and received his education in Winfield graduating from Winfield High School in 1980. After high school, Steven joined the United States Marine Corp and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and later Camp Pendleton, California. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Winfield and worked at Sonic and Rodeo Meat Packing Plant.
Steven was united in marriage to Karla Bennington on March 17, 1985 in El Dorado. The couple made their first home in Winfield. Steven worked in the dietary department at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center. In 1996, the couple moved to Arkansas City and returned to Winfield in 2008.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Winfield and the American Legion Post #10. He enjoyed collecting coins and trading cards, watching football and watching WWE.

His brother: David Sultz and wife, Theresa of Winfield;
His sister: Debbie Head and husband, Rick of Winfield; and
His grandchildren: Ethan, Spencer, Caleb and Meredith all of Wichita.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services with Military honors will be held at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established in Steven's name to defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
