Obituary

Steven Lee Lumbert, 56, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, at his home.

Born September 10, 1965, in Winfield, he was the son of Howard Lumbert and Donna (Barnhart) Lumbert. He was raised and received his education in Winfield. While in high school, he enjoyed playing football. After school, Steve joined the United States Army.

He married Heather Humbert, and to this union, a son was born. The couple later divorced. Steve worked for the City of Winfield, the City of Burden and Oxford Sand but spent most of his career as an over-the-road truck driver, driving for many companies, including Swift and JB Hunt. After retiring from trucking due to medical reasons, Steve worked as an auto mechanic from his home. He also worked for a short time for Lumbert's Auto Salvage.

His family includes his son Waylon Lumbert and fiance, Shawna Clingerman of Winfield; his grandchildren, Shaylon and Dale Lumbert of Winfield; his father Howard Lumbert and wife, Linda of Winfield; his mother Donna Lumbert of Winfield; his brother Ross Lumbert and wife, Jana of Rose Hill; and his sister Gayle Walker and husband, Brad of Chandler, TX and many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold memorial services at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 7, 2022, at Calvary Chapel, 1001 South 3rd, Arkansas City, Kansas. Steve would want the dress to be casual.

A memorial has been established in Steve's name for The Wounded Warrior Project. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
