Steven "Steve" Brett Bowlin, 62, of Winfield, passed away Saturday morning, November 6, 2021, at his daughter's residence.

Born December 2, 1958, in Winfield, he was the son of Jimmy and Ruth Ann (Reed) Bowlin.  Steve was raised and received his education in Winfield. He attended Winfield High School.

Steve worked for the railroad and also held a roofing position with Martin Roofing.  In his childhood, Steve's family enjoyed bowling and roller skating. As he got older, he liked playing pool, making deer and beef jerky, growing vegetables in his garden, and tinkering in his shop on small engines for bicycles and lawnmowers. Steve especially enjoyed going to the river to fish. The river was, as Steve called it, his "office". Though Steve was stubborn, he will always be remembered by his big smile and sky-blue eyes.

His family includes his daughter, Blair Bowlin; his granddaughter, Calee Belair; and his great-granddaughter, Roy, all of Winfield; his sister, DeAnn Titus and husband, Will of Newton; his good friend, Charlie; and numerous nieces and nephews. His brother Jimmy Charles sadly passed away the day after Steve.

In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his brothers Michael and William; his wife, Karen; and his beloved dog, Angel, who would do anything for Steve.

Per Steve's request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in Steve's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
