Steven "Mark" Athearn, 57, Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, December 30, 2012 at his home.
Born October 17, 1955 in Winfield, Kansas he was the son of Guy L. and Donna J. (Donlay) Athearn. He was raised and received his education in Winfield. In 1971 the family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma where Mark finished school. After school he went to work for Winfield Floral where he remained for over 20 years.
His family includes:
His brothers: Kelly Athearn and wife, Vicki of Winfield; Wayde Athearn of Winfield;
His sister: Linda Byerley and husband, Lee of Winfield;
His nieces: Melissa Strausberg of Winfield; Angie Henry and husband, James of Lawrence; and
His great niece and nephew: Lorelai Stausberg of Winfield; and Desmond Henry of Lawrence.
In addition to his parents Mark was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Lee Athearn.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
