Obituary

Stephen L. Nettrouer, 64, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 11, 2018.

Born December 15, 1953 in Dexter, Kansas, he was the son of Junior Nettrouer and Mabel Gooch. He was raised and received his education in Dexter, graduating from Dexter High School in 1971. He received his Drafting Degree from Cowley County Community College in 1973 and then attended Sterling College in Salina.

Steve was united in marriage to Susan Wheeler on March 21, 1987. The couple made their home in the Winfield area. Steve worked various jobs throughout his life, including at the Winfield Sale Barn as a Yard Man. He most recently worked at the Winfield Middle School as a custodian.

He was a member of Tisdale United Methodist Church and was an active volunteer with Brothers In Blue. Steve preached at several local Methodist churches. He loved to work. He also enjoyed watching sports and drag racing and had developed a love for Bluegrass.

His family includes his wife Susan of Winfield; his sons, Roger Nettrouer and wife, Miranda of Arkansas City; Raymond Nettrouer of Wellington; Adam Nettrouer of Winfield; Alex Nettrouer and fiancé, Katerina Castillo of Topeka; his mother Mabel Ulbrich of Seneca, MO; and his grandchildren, Cailin Nettrouer, Anthony Patton, Ashton Bannister, Aiden Patton, and Anistyn Templeton.

In addition to his father, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Nettrouer.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Tisdale United Methodist Church. All are invited for a dinner and time of fellowship at the church following the service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. A visitation will be held at Miles Funeral Service on Friday evening, December 21, 2018 from 5 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in Steve's name for the family, to help defray medical expenses, Brothers In Blue, and for Tisdale United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
