Stefan W. Gamble, 57, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Thursday morning, December 8, 2022, at his home.

He was born on December 6, 1965, in Fort Ord, California to William H and Shirley I. (Totman) Gamble. His father was killed in the line of duty during the Vietnam War. Stefan lived in Hutchinson, Kansas for many years, where Mary Lou Hillman became his legal guardian. In 2012 he moved to Winfield, with Mary Lou and her family where he resided at several group homes through Capper Foundation.

Stefan would always greet people with a warm smile and a hug. He was kind and caring, but he was a jokester. Stefan enjoyed playing basketball, watching football, fishing, bowling, swimming, and going on picnics and feeding the ducks. He loved animals, and his favorite month was December, because of his birthday and Christmas. Stefan was a 'coffee connoisseur' and enjoyed his trips to College Hill Coffee.

In addition to his Parents, Stefan was preceded in death by his guardian of over 20 years "mama" Mary Lou Hillman. Stefan is survived by his two sisters, Tammy Echessa and her husband, Rajab and Ilene Townsend, both of Springfield, Missouri; his current guardian, Christian Brumley; and the many care givers that he has met through the years.

Memorial services have been rescheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
