Sing Phabmixay, 65,
of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday evening, September 7, 2017 at his home in Winfield.
Born August 6, 1952 in Sam Neua, Laos, he was the son of Vanhna and Khoui Phabmixay. He was raised in Laos and in 1979 moved to Thailand. On September 19, 1979, he was united in marriage to May Phakonekham. The couple moved to Boston, Massachusetts on January 21, 1980. In June they moved to Winfield, Kansas, and Sing began working for Rubbermaid. He remained at Rubbermaid for over 12 years, and in March of 1992 the family opened Best of the Orient restaurant in Winfield. They continued running the restaurant until Sing retired in 2006.
He was a member of Laos Baptist Mission Church in Winfield. He was also a member of the Omsinh Club and the Lao Kansas Christian Association.

In addition to his parents, Sing was preceded in death by his sister, Kong Sphabmixay.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Central Baptist Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, on Friday evening, September 15, 2017 from 5 to 7. The family will greet visitors at that time.
