Sinchy Kapwich, 81, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away July 21, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Born July 27, 1940, in Chuuk in the Federated States of Micronesia, son of Kapwich Sopu and Alita Erastos. He was raised in Tonoas, Chuuk and attended the University of the Phillipines, receiving a Bachelor degree. He was married to Frestine Peter.

Sinchy worked as a teacher and later a principal. He was Chief of Federal Program for the Department of Education and was later assigned as Deputy Director. He later became Deputy Director of the Budget Office until he was reassigned as Special Consultant to the Governor of Chuuk and worked under Governor Ansito Walter. He was a person who provided professional advice in a particular field of business.

Survivors include his wife Frestine of Winfield; his sons, Bersus Kapwich, Tarsus Kapwich, Ulysis Kapwich, Trisus Kapwich, Tarius Kapwich, Taurus Kapwich, Tripony Kapwich, Esfy Kapwich, Tarnes Kapwich, Steinor Kapwich, Saiperly Kapwich, Ichnis Kapwich, and Wein Kapwich; his daughters Pilar Uong, Sally Poll, Sophia Kapwich, Jane Kapwich, Tricia Kapwich, Sophiana Kapwich, Sintine Kapwich, Baireny Kapwich; some of his grandchildren, Sarah Nobuo, Russell Nobuo, Zerolyn Fiden, Richmond Fiden, J. Junior Jahnny, and Jake Kapwich, Dorleen K. Naka, Braise and Brandon Kapwich, Hanverly and Darina Kapwich, Samertalyn and Frestoria, Kosam, Maverick Kapwich, Tarry and Diancy Kapwich, Maryaan Kapwich, AS and Sterisa Soulik, Iseiah and Hosanna Kapwich, FJ Aurio and Beverly Aurio, Simelson and Melsina Saito, Ruth, Rudolph; and his great grandchildren, ZeeJay Fiden, JS Baelo, Ella Ruth, and Sophia Lynn.

Services will begin at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will take place in Sinchy's home country.
