Shirley Jean Faucette, 86, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at William Newton Hospital.

Born October 28, 1935, in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Joseph and Eliza Jannie (Thompson) Davis. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1954.

She was united in marriage to Andrew Faucette in July of 1968 in Winfield, where the couple made their home. Shirley made her career as a Mental Health Technician at Winfield State Hospital and Training Center, where she worked for over 37 years before retiring. Andrew preceded her in death on June 13, 2004.

She was a member of Bethel AME Church in Winfield. She enjoyed listening to music and traveling. She was a generous donor to many charitable organizations.

Her family includes a niece Karla Willis-Kendrick of Wichita, and a host of cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her four siblings, Ward Davis, Bill Davis, Dave Davis, and Joann Willis.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Inurnment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

A memorial in Shirley's name has been established for the Dementia Society of America. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
