Shirell Jordan, 56, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Via Christi St. Teresa Hospital in Wichita.
Born August 9, 1964 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Shirley and Ina Marie Stout. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1983. After school, Shirell married Ronald Wayne Jordan, Jr. in Arkansas City. The couple lived in many places due to Ronald's military career including Maryland, Washington D.C., and Galveston, Texas. They had two children and later divorced.
In 1991, Shirell returned to Winfield where she worked as a CNA at Winfield Rest Haven. She then returned to school where she earned her associate degree from Cowley County Community College and a bachelor's degree in business from Southwestern College. In 1999, she began working at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, where she remained for over 21 years. She enjoyed reading, playing card games, going to the lake, skiing, boating, and going to her grandchildren's events. Shirell loved to bake, specializing in candies, pies, and other desserts.
Her family includes her daughters, Shellie Suttles and husband, Ryan of Winfield; Jessica Jordan and Matthew Salomon of Wichita; her parents, Shirley and Ina Marie Stout of Winfield; her brothers, Gregory Stout of Winfield; Thomas Stout and wife, Kathy of Dexter; Brian Stout and wife, Gwen of Winfield; her sister-in-law Treva Stout of Winfield; her grandchildren, Ryan, Talon, Owen, Layla, Natalie, Grayson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors that evening.
A memorial has been established in Shirell's name for the Winfield Public Library. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
