Sheila Ann Bonnell, 60, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, March 19, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Born December 16, 1963, in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Bobby Jo and Roberta Ann (Darnell) Bonnell.  She was raised in Winfield, becoming disabled at a young age.  At the age of 12, she went to live at the Kansas Neurological Institute in Topeka, and at 18, returned to Winfield, residing at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center.  Sheila later lived in several area care homes, most recently residing with Capper Foundation in Arkansas City.  She enjoyed sitting with people while visiting and loved spending time with her cat.

Her family includes her brother Kenneth Bonnell and wife, Laurie of Udall; her sisters-in-law, Kristie Bonnell, Peggy Bonnell, and Ann Bonnell; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Harold, and Ronnie.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Sheila's name for the Capper Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
