Shawna L. Killgore, 49, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday evening, July 2, 2024, at the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Shawna was born on March 15, 1975, in Denver, Colorado.  She was raised by her grandparents, Margie and Danny Whiteaker.  The family moved to 14 states and Shawna attended multiple schools before graduating from Wooster High School in Wooster, Ohio in 1993.  Following high school, she attended Devry University in Phoenix, Arizona, graduating with her Associates Degree in Accounting and a minor in Computer Programming.  She lived in Phoenix for ten years and worked as an office manager for various companies.

Working as an office manager, she attended Air Capitol Vending and met Ira Killgore.  The couple were married on May 31, 2008, at Botanica in Wichita, Kansas.  They made their home in Winfield.  Shawna then began her second career as a housewife and homemaker.

Shawna enjoyed scrapbooking and gardening her herbs and flowers.  Her favorite flower was the Stargazer Lily.  She was an excellent cook, specializing in quiche, spaghetti, and lasagna.

Her family includes her husband Ira Killgore of Winfield; her children, Angelique and Brayden Killgore of Winfield; her bonus children, Tyler and Renay Killgore of Wichita; her mom Margie Whiteaker of Oxford; and her brothers, Christopher and Shaun Shepard.

Shawna was preceded in death by her dad Danny Whiteaker.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.

A memorial has been established in Shawna's name for the Cowley County Humane Society.  Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
