Shawn Alan Gose, 40, of Winfield, passed away Wednesday evening, April 8, 2009, at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.

Born December 13, 1968 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he was the son of Donald and Deborah (Swanson) Gose. He was raised and received his education in Marysville, Kansas. While Shawn was in high school the family moved to McPherson, where he graduated from McPherson High School in 1988. Growing up, he was actively involved in the Scouts, and was on the wrestling team in high school. After graduation, he attended Hutchinson Community College and then moved to Winfield to be with his family.

On May 8, 2007 Shawn was united in marriage to Kendy Sue Lyons in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield where he worked in many different fields of construction.

He enjoyed woodworking, hanging out with his friends, tinkering with cars, and was known for helping others.

His brother: Kevin Gose and wife, Jelinda, of Derby;
His sister: Jamie Gose of Winfield;
His daughter: Bethany Nicole Gose;
His grandmother: Virginia Swanson of Marysville; and
A host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shawn was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Gose, his maternal grandfather Robert Swanson, and his paternal grandparents, Earl and Ruth Gose.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church in Winfield at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Rosary Services will be held Monday evening, April 13, 2009 at Holy Name Catholic Church at 7:00 P.M. The family will greet visitors at Miles Funeral Service Monday afternoon from 3 to 5.

A memorial has been established in Shawn's name to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
