Sharalene Kay Jones, 75, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Tuesday evening, April 12, 2022 at Diversicare of Haysville.
Born May 9, 1946, in Gossel, Kansas, she was the daughter of Howard and Ruth (Williams) Funk. Her family moved to Wichita when she was nine years old, and Sharalene attended and graduated from South High School in 1964. She then attended Wichita State University for two years.
Sharalene was united in marriage to Cecil Jones on February 10, 1967, in Labannon, Missouri. The couple made their home in Wichita and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Sharalene worked in the data entry field for many years. She later worked in lease management in the oil industry.
She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, as well as reading. She was an avid true crime television show watcher. She loved her cats.
Her family includes her husband, Cecil Jones of Wichita; her daughter Kettryn Jones-Clark and wife, Kaleigh of Kansas City, MO; her son Bradley Jones of Studio City, CA; her granddaughter Olyvia Jones of Lee's Summit, MO; and many cousins.
In addition to her parents, Howard and Ruth, Sharalene was preceded in death by an infant son Travis Dean Jones and a brother Byron James "Jim" Funk.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 22, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service. Inurnment will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in Sharalene's name for the Kansas Humane Society and for the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
