SAXTON LEE HASELWOOD, 26, of Burden, Kansas, loving son, grandson and brother, passed away Sunday morning, February 8, 2009 in Herrington, Kansas.
Born January 9, 1983 in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Randy Lee and Rebecca A. (Madux) Haselwood. He was raised and received his education in Burden and graduated from Burden High School in 2001. He later graduated from Butler Community College in 2004. Saxton graduated from Southwestern College in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in communications. During his college years, he was employed at the Fleming Grain Elevator.
Following graduation from college, Saxton was employed for the Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor where he was employed at the time of his death.
Saxton was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed restoring old cars and trucks. He also loved playing his guitar in his band with his brother, athletics, art and his beloved dog, Shamrock.

His sisters: Danita Reed and husband Justin of Wichita, KS; and Phillina Lewis and husband Michael of Oklahoma;
His maternal grandmother: Wilma "Dolly" Smith of Maize, KS;
His paternal grandparents: Lora and Don Davidson of Dewey, OK; and
A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Delmar Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 13, 2009 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at the Burden Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Thursday, February 12, 2009. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., that evening.
A memorial has been set up in Saxton's name for a College Scholarship for his brother, Winslow. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
