Saundra Ann "Sandy" Smith, 82, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at her home.

Born January 30, 1936 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, she was the daughter of Edward Bryant and Eleanor Catherine (Holcomb) Lee. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in Amorita, Oklahoma, graduating from Amorita High School in 1954.

She was united in marriage to Wilford Lee "Smitty" Smith on January 26, 1954 in Amorita, Oklahoma. The couple made their first home in Amorita before moving to Weatherford, Oklahoma, while Smitty attended Pharmacy School. They then moved to Alva, Oklahoma where Sandy was a homemaker. They later returned to Amorita living on the family farm before moving to Hutchinson and later Anthony. In 1972, the couple opened Smitty's Pharmacy and enjoyed serving the people of Anthony and the surrounding area for over 13 years, retiring in 1985. After retirement, they enjoyed many years of golfing with family members and friends. Smitty preceded her in death on January 25, 2002. In 2011, Sandy moved to Winfield, Kansas to be near family.

She was a member of First Congregational Church in Anthony as well as Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Merry Makers, the Anthony Library Board, and the Anthony Golf Course. She also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother while in Hutchinson.

Her family includes her children Stephanie Nulik and husband, Pete of Winfield; Mike Smith and wife, Charlene of Danville; her grandchildren Scott Nulik of Arkansas City; Stacie Crittenden and husband, Dustin of Rock; Bryce Smith and wife, Tiffany of Brighton, CO; Kathryn Smith of Visalia, CA; her great grandchildren Emma Charvat, Owen Nulik, and Barrett Crittenden; her brothers and sisters-in-law Wes and Beth Smith of Alva, OK; Priscilla Smith of McPherson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sandy was preceded in death by a brother, Conner Lee and a brother-in-law, Larry Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 6, 2018 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. The family will greet visitors in Anthony from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. that afternoon at the First Congregational Church where lunch will be served. Interment will be held at 3:00 P.M. at the Byron-Amorita Cemetery in Byron, Oklahoma. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. The family will greet visitors during this time.

Memorials have been established in Sandy's name for the American Heart Association, the Anthony Library and for the First Congregational Church in Anthony. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
