Santana Jude Tapia, 15, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

Born July 17, 2006, in Winfield, he was the son of Samuel and Sudie (White) Tapia.  He was raised and received his education in Winfield.  He enjoyed being a member of the Winfield Middle School Scholar's Bowl Team and was a Mathlete.  He was also a member of the orchestra, where he played the String Bass.  Santana enjoyed running track, specializing in sprinting, hurdles, and enjoyed being on relays with his cousin, Gabriel.  He enjoyed watching movies with family while talking them through it.  He also enjoyed online video gaming with friends, Gundam models, anime, Dragon Ball Z, dancing, making people laugh, family game nights, and going on car rides with his sister Savannah and friend Taytay.

His family includes his father Samuel Tapia of Winfield; his mother Sudie Tapia of Winfield; his siblings, Samantha Pogue and husband, Jesse of Colorado Springs, CO; Sylvia Tapia of Winfield; Salvador Tapia of Winfield; Savannah Tapia of Winfield; his paternal grandparents, Antonio and Guadalupe Tapia of Winfield; his maternal grandmother Patricia White of Winfield; his nieces, Ameighya, Ariannah, Alaynah; and nephew Jayden all of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Santana was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dr. R.B. White, MD and Judith Showalter.

The funeral mass will be held Monday, August 16, 2021, at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Name Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.  The Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening, August 15, 2021, at 7:00 P.M.   Services are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in Santana's name to help defray funeral expenses.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
