Sandra R. Wilson, 49, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield.

Born December, 27, 1962 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Barbara Jean Wilson Bobo. Sandy moved to the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center in November of 1968 and lived there until the hospital closed in December of 1997. Sandy moved to her Creative Community Living home in Arkansas City, where she lived the remainder of her life.

Her family includes:
Her mother: Barbara Wilson Bobo of Wichita;
Her sisters: Setrina Wilson and Regina Wilson of Wichita;
Her brothers: Kenneth Wilson and Tyrone Wilson of Wichita;
Her friend and guardian: Lupe Wells; and
Her CCL friends, caregivers, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 2:00 P.M., at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at the State Hospital Cemetery in Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 P.M., on Wednesday May 16, 2012.

A memorial has been established in Sandy's name for Creative Community Living. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
