RUTHELMA WEBB 93, of Winfield, Kansas passed away Wednesday evening, October 06, 2010 at the Joy Home in Oxford.
Born on May 29, 1917 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Reverend Henry A. and Mary Alice (Campbell) Kuhns. She was raised and educated in Wichita and graduated from Wichita East High School in 1935. She later graduated from Wesley School of Nursing in 1938 and practiced at Wesley Hospital for one year.
She was united in marriage on October 6, 1940 to David L. Webb in Wichita, Kansas. The couple made their home in Ashland. Ruthelma was employed as a registered nurse at the Ashland Hospital for 20 years and later at the Leoti Hospital for 3 years. In 1966, the couple moved to Winfield where she was employed at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center for 12 years before retiring in 1978. Mr. Webb preceded her in death on October 17, 2005.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Her hobbies included crocheting, visiting and helping shut ins and her church friends.

Her sons: David L. Webb and wife Linda of Des Moines, IA; Donald D. Webb and wife Elaine of Kansas City, KS; and Rodger K. Webb and wife Gayle of Winfield, KS;
Her sister: Charlotte Sink of Torrance, CA;
Her grandchildren: Steven Webb and wife Tami, Jennifer Frank and husband Jason, Patrick Webb and wife Candice, and Kristen Webb; and
Her great-grandchildren: Kyle, Alexis, Josefina, Nadia, Garrett, Kaitlin, Alexandra, Owen, Morgan and Wade; and
A host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Michael R. "Mickey" Webb; her brothers, Arnold, Frank, Henry and Raymond Kuhns; and her sister, Vivian Wilson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday morning, October 11, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.
A memorial has been established in Ruthelma's name for the Church of the Nazarene in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
