RUTH L. WOODS, 87, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 7, 2015 at William Newton Hospital.

Born on December 13, 1927 in Deleware County, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Carl Allen and Carrie Walker.

Ruth was united in marriage to Loyd Wilson Woods on August 1, 1942 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. They resided in Tahlequah until 1951 when they moved to Winfield. She was employed at Binney & Smith Crayola for over 35 years, working in the packing and maintenance departments. Loyd preceded her in death on July 18, 2001.

She was a member of the Binney & Smith 25 year retirement club. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved dancing and playing cards.

Her family includes:
Her grandchildren: Christina Pingry and husband Bryan of Winfield, KS; and Greg Woods and wife Lisa of Winfield, KS;
Her great-grandchildren: Breanna Pingry, Taylor Woods and Conner Woods;
Her sister: Shirley Green of Ceres, CA;
Her niece: Krista Bauer; and
Her 2 nephews: Greg Allen and Rob Green.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Carl LeRoy Woods; her daughter-in-law, Connie Woods; her brothers, Thomas Allen and Billy Walker.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 10, 2015. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:00 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Ruth's name for Binney & Smith's 25 year retirement club. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
