RUTH J. BEAVER, 91, of Wichita, Kansas, former Winfield resident, passed away Sunday morning, June 29, 2008, at Via Christi St. Joe in Wichita.
Born on March 25, 1917 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Harvey and Ruby Bell (Moore) Vineyard. Her family moved to Winfield when she was young. She was educated in the Winfield area, graduating from Winfield High School.
Ruth was united in marriage to William Ernest Beaver in Wichita on April 13, 1937. The couple lived in Winfield, St. Louis, Indianapolis, and then returned to Winfield. Mr. Beaver preceded her in death on August 22, 1981.
She worked in sales, but made her career as a homemaker, taking care of her family. She enjoyed sewing, painting, embroidery, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Winfield and was most recently attending Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Wichita.

Her daughter: Judi Weldy and husband, Dale of Wichita;
Her sister: Kay Winslow of Haynes City, FL;
Her grandchildren: Amanda Beaver; Greg Weldy and wife, Stephanie; and Dalynn Lynch and husband, Ed; and
Her great-grandchildren: E.J., Dalyssa and Janelle Lynch.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Vineyard, and her sister, Betty Parrish.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M.
A Memorial has been established in Mrs. Beaver's name for the Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
