Russell Nelson Jones, 61, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday afternoon, October 28, 2024, at William Newton Hospital.

Born May 31, 1963, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, he was the son of Max and Stella (Dow) Jones.  He was raised and received his education in Arkansas City, Kansas, graduating from Ark City High School.  He then attended Cowley County Community College receiving an Associate Degree.

Russell was united in marriage to Linda Sevick on January 1, 2000, in Winfield.  The couple made their home in Winfield where Russell worked for many years at Gott and Rubbermaid.  He later drove truck and worked at Southwind Casino before beginning his job at Creekstone.

He enjoyed reading, collecting swords, smoking meat, online casino games, and watching the History Channel.  He also enjoyed spending time with his great nieces and nephews.

His family includes his wife, Linda of Winfield; his daughter Jasmine Ball and husband, Jay of Pomona; his granddaughter Orin Ball of Pomona; his sister Veronica Viola and husband, Barry of Missouri; his mother-in-law Wanda Sevick of Winfield; his sisters-in-law, Chryl Horton and husband, Russell of Winfield; Anita Hadley and husband, Troy of Winfield; Dawna Banning and husband, Randy of Arkansas City; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by two sisters, Sam Kelly and Della Becker.

Private family services will be held at a later date.  Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
