Russell L. Beckwith, 56, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Thursday morning, November 3, 2016 at his home.
Born December 9, 1959 in Winfield, he was the son of Robert L. and Marylee (Pettit) Beckwith. He was raised and received his education in Winfield.
Russell married Anita Hinkley in 1981. They made their home in Winfield. To this union, one child was born. The couple later divorced. Russell then moved to Bentonville, Arkansas where he began working in the heating and air conditioning industry. He married Patricia Simmons in the late 80's. The couple later divorced. Russell continued working in the heating and air conditioning industry for 40 years. In 2010, he started and operated Hillbilly Handyman Service.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed building furniture out of wood, clocks, signs and enjoyed making jewelry. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

His nieces: Amber Newman and husband, Robert of Rogers, AR; Jenny Reynoso and husband, Diego of Bentonville, AR; Meghann Walter and husband, Jacy of Winfield; Kellie Brown Dean and husband, Darrell of Bryant, AK; Kristi Brown Desjardins and husband of Tulsa, OK; Kimber Brown Warren and husband, Dan of Wichita; Chelsea Jellison of Winfield;
His nephews: Kent Benneville of Rogers, AK; Chris Hobkirk of Pea Ridge, AK; Trent Beckwith of Winfield; and
Many more that called him grandpa.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Culver.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 to 8. The family will greet from 4 to 6 that evening.
A memorial has been established in Russell's name for the Russell Beckwith Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
